What is life if it doesn’t have a downside or rather and upside to it? Having gone through series of challenges in life, it has definitely taught me to appreciate life more and most importantly, people. Often people take themselves and others for granted without realizing that life is just too short, and that also includes me. It has come to my senses that we should start appreciating people more especially the ones who have been around for us through thick and thin. This could include family, relatives or even friends.

As I have just mentioned, life isn’t life if it doesn’t have a balance of both Ying and Yang. Overlooking the fact is something we do almost perfectly well in life when it flashes right in front of us like a ray of light. Recently my sister has highlighted a valid point which woke me from within. Something I’ve never considered so intensely until she uttered. “We should appreciate and respect people”. Hmmm…something I’ve already known but believe or not, it often slips our mind as we are just too busy with this and that. It is excuses we give ourselves, that’s all. Acknowledging the slightest act is the greatest give for one. It goes to show that we care, we understand and we value their presence and their good deeds. How many of us actually pause from the rat race and realize the significance of appreciating a soul for their good deed? For those who have done a great deal for us I mean? The fact is a handful. For the few … well done! And the rest, well it’s a shame that we have all taken our close ones for granted. Wake up and smell the coffee. People often fail to realize that life isn’t just filled with happiness but rather sadness as well. It is part and parcel of life, like it or not. So, it’s crucial to empathize for others, our close ones especially because one day we will experience the same ordeal. Imagine being all so selfish back then when our close ones needed us most at some point of time. All we could say was "I'm busy or i have things to do" when in actual fact, we were just out there having some fun when our close ones were probably in agony or something. Wouldn’t it make us feel guilty or bad?? One day, we will get the same treatment as what goes around, comes around. There will come a time where catastrophe might just strike us seeing that nothing is certain in life. Only then we will realize that it’ll be a little too late to beseech. So, with that in mind, we should all learn to appreciate and respect others more and stop taking them for a ride because it may happen to us too one fine day. However, empathizing and respecting others, should be a way of life and not just some act performed to impress people though.

Lies vs Excuses

I've always wondered if there's a differences between a Lie and an Excuse. Perhaps there are a difference but what about a lame excuse?? To me they mean the same. What is a lie? the dictionary states that a lie is " a false statement made with deliberate intent to deceive; an intentional untruth, a falsehood. On the other hand, an excuse simply means "to free, as from an obligation or duty but what about a lame excuse? don't recall seeing a definition for it. Both to me means fleeing away from the truth or reality.
Well, a lie is something people circumvent because it's sinful in all religion but an excuse is the easy way out. A lame excuse is not lying but a form of escape from having to utter the truth. Well, whatever it is, it's definitely an art of concealing the truth or the point.
Now the big question is, why lie when you can give a lame excuse? because it makes one less guilty or sinful? Again, a form of escape i would say. Nevertheless, both the words, LIE and EXCUSE are certainly an easy way out from anything and everything. These words may seem simple but sure as heck signify negativity. LIE = LAME EXCUSE and only utter a lie or give an excuse when one has no choice, and i mean really at hobson's choice. Well, as simple as the words may personify, circumvent at all cost if granted because it leads to a common practice that will slowly become a part of one's life. Eventually, it'll become a hobby that'll be very difficult to part and before you know it, you'd be labelled a "LIAR" or someone with a whole load of "Excuses". So, as difficult as it may seem to tell the truth, i think it's the best way out or at least it will be in time to come. As a strong believer of "what goes around, comes around", keep away from lies as it attracts flies like any rubbish and as far as excuses goes, a BIG NO NO because it is the same darn thing, less significant though to many. Remember, at the end of the day, it is only a temporary relieve or ESCAPE for every action, there's an equal and opposite reaction.

Just had lunch with paolos and yentai.
